On the project

This project focuses on the technology development of one-step process to produce dense and hard hydrophobic coatings with stable mechanical and wetting properties. Three different powder mixtures of WC-Co-Cr composition and further modified powder mixture of WC-Co-Cr with hydrophobic agent (stearic acid, PTFE and/or SiO2) will be sprayed on steel substrates. Further coatings charachterization will be performed to define the influence of initial feedstock particle size on final coatings microstructure/topography and its influence on wettability and mechanical properties.
