Město Zlín, považované v Evropě za modelový vzor průmyslového města, dnes trpí řadou nedostatků. Chybí zde komunikační osy, rozvoj urbanistické struktury omezuje údolí a jednostranný průmysl se nachází v krizi... Studenti architektury z Brna, Nancy, Brestu, Milána a Glasgow hledali v rámci zlínského workshopu roku 2000 ideje, směřující k propojení historického centra Zlína, výstavby z Baťovy éry a nových společenských požadavků univerzitního města.

The town of Zlín, considered to be a model example of industrial city in the Europe, suffers nowadays from many defects. It´s missing the communication axes, the development of urban structures is limited by the valley and the monofunctional industry is finding in a crise... Within the frame of the workshop in 2000 the students of architecture from Brno, Nancy, Brest, Milan and Glasgow searched for some ideas aiming at iterconnection between the historical centre of Zlín, the buildings of Baťa´s period and the new social needs of university town.
