Academic Senate of BUT

Competence

  • The Academic Senate of the BUT approves the internal regulations of the BUT and its units, approves the budget of the BUT submitted by the Rector and controls the use of the BUT's financial resources,
  • approve the annual activity report and the annual report on the BUT's management submitted by the Rector, approve the evaluation of the activities of the university submitted by the Rector,
  • approve the Rector's proposal for the appointment and dismissal of members of the Scientific Council of the BUT,
  • deliberate on the proposal for the appointment of the Rector, or propose his/her removal from office,
  • approves the long-term plan of the educational and scientific, research, development, artistic or other creative activities of the BUT and its annual update, after discussion in the Scientific Council of the BUT,
  • expresses its opinion in particular on the Rector's intention to appoint or dismiss Vice-Rectors, on legal acts that require the approval of the BUT Board of Trustees, and on suggestions and opinions of the BUT Board of Trustees.
  • It performs other activities in accordance with the Higher Education Act as amended.
