BUT delegation will visit Sultan Qaboos University in Omana
Large delegation from Sultan Qaboos University, including about 80 Omani students, visited the Brno University of Technology in June 2019. During this visit, the discussions on the possibilities of mutual cooperation were held, which resulted in an official visit of Sultan Qaboos University in Oman by BUT on 4–8 October, 2019. The main objective of the delegation was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding by the highest representatives of both universities.
"The mutual cooperation between the University of Oman and the Brno University of Technology will consist mainly in the exchange of students and academic staff, especially with the Faculty of Business, Faculty of Information Technology and Central European Institute of Technology, CEITEC BUT," was told by the Vice-Rector for International Relations Jiří Hirš. Both schools are also keenly interested in nanotechnology research, where the cooperation with CEITEC BUT, specifically their research infrastructure CEITEC Nano, is emerging. During the visit in November, attended by the Rector, Vice-Rector, Vice-Dean and two student representatives, the participants also discussed topics such as Smart Cities, Industry 4.0 and the research and development of artificial intelligence.
