Design of structures involves many innovative elements such as a shape of load-bearing structure, application of high-strength concrete, combination of materials, non-traditional process of assembly, etc. Due to creep and shrinkage of concrete it comes to distinctive redistribution of internal forces in most of these structures. Therefore, at structural solution of a structure it is necessary to adopt a number of assumptions about static behaviour not only of the individual elements but also of the whole structure, which should be verified by measurement in the course of construction and thus consequently establish the conditions for long-term monitoring of the bridge structure after setting into service.
