The results show that the influence of the polar groups is based on the creation of new localized states and the extension of the distribution of charge carrier transport states. Therefore, the charge carrier transport and then the current modulation can be influenced by photochromic species, which can be realized in the form of additive in polymer matrix or as bounded side groups of the polymer.
