Any modern robust file format used in today's digital imaging has to implement adequate solutions intended to fulfil needed security issues. One of the most important aspect is the watermarking scheme, a security system which deals with digital rights management and authentication. This article explores the ways on how to implement watermarking in discrete-time wavelet transform (DWT) based image codec. We will focus on watermarking classification and analyze watermarking embedding possibilities.
