In this chapter, two types of the biometric modalities are considered: a thermal, or infrared face and a 3D face. We illustrate concept of fusion at the recognition component, which is a  part of more complex decision-making level. Both methods are described in terms of data acquisition, image processing and recognition algorithms. The general facial recognition approach, based on the algorithmic fusion of several methods, is presented, and its performance is evaluated on both 3D and thermal face databases
