The paper deals with a strategy for symbolic approximation of large analog circuits that are composed from functional blocks. The strategy is based on combination of a standard hierarchical analysis and a novel method for simplification of the circuit structure. Availability of the simplified circuit model helps to represent results of the analysis in more interpretable form.
