Bio-minerals i.e. bones, teeth, shell, fish scale or kidney stones have been found to be excellent "archives" related to living habits, nutrition and exposure to changing environmental conditions. We report on utilization of the ELETTRAs SYRMEP beamline for investigation of the 3D structure of selected biominerals. Our intention is to obtain the necessary information about the sample structure in order to validate the LIBS or LA-ICP-MS/OES analysis outcomes.
