Originální abstrakt

About 20 000 small dams exist on the territory of the Czech Republic. According to Czech legislation a small dam is defined as a dam with a height of up to 9 m and reservoir volume not exceeding 2 milion m3. Due to the great number of installations and the variety of owners, small installations are freqently poorly maintained and necessary reconstruction and rehabilitation work is not carried out due to the lack of financial means. Moreover, many owners of small dams are not skilled enough and do not assess the conditions of their facilities adequately and in time.
