This paper is focused on the preparation and characterization of glutathione (GSH) coated near infrared quantum dots (QDs). The preparation method is based on surface modification of hydrophobic core/shell CdSeTe/CdS by glutathione, which makes the QDs water-soluble. These GSH-coated NIR QDs are suitable for in vivo imaging.
