The trend in the building industry is build quickly, cost-effectively, safely and technically correct. An integral part of the building project is the assessment of thermo-technical parameters and design of the building envelope from the viewpoint heat loss. The most commonly used system for protected buildings along of heat loses is the contact thermal insulation system - ETICS. The ETICS is made up of several basic components - heat insulating layer, the basic reinforcement layer and final surface finish. The basic layer is formed of filling compound with embedded glass fiber reinforcing mesh. Parameters of basic layer affects the overall parameters of the system, because this layer is a protective layer of insulating material and also the basis for the final finish. The article focuses on the conditions and methods of testing of the basic layer. The test methodology was then primarily focused on backfilling material which is the main material of the layer and gives the layer necessary properties.
