O projektu

The subject of our study – MXenes- represents one of the latest class of 2D materials attracting similar big attention as the previous “famous” 2D materials like graphene and transition metal dichalcogenites (TMDC). The ultimate project goal is a successful implementation of novel methods of direct growth of MXenes compatible with UHV conditions which enables real time monitoring of their growth, and their in situ characterization. In this way, properties of this new class of materials will be improved and exploited in state-of-the art devices (e.g. photodetectors). To our best knowledge, such an approach has not been studied yet and represents a novel and challenging subject being addressed by this project proposal.
