Sports Training

FP-TstPAcad. year: 2015/2016

The course of sports training synthesizes the theoretical knowledge gained from the following courses: anatomy, exercise physiology, biomechanics, physical culture, physical education, pedagogy, psychology and develops, in the point of view of theoretical and practical topics, the adaptation of the human organism to various types os stimuluses for various sports perfomances.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

After completion the course student should be able to:
- Characterize the historical development of the sports training
- Define the goals and tasks of the sports training
- explain and name the basic terms, sports performance, efficiency and classification of the sports performance
- Explain the process of adaptation of organism to the training impulses
- will be able to solve the performance development in adequate way
- use the general characters of the composition of the sports training for specific need of individual sports areas and disciplines
- analyze the effects of the sports training
- characterize the plan of the training process
- name the criteria which determine the talent in the sport branch

Prerequisites

Passing the courses of physiology and the exercise physiology.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Awarding of credit:
Active participation in the tuition (80 %). Institutional excuse in case of one absence, further absence will be substituted after consultation with the teacher, an individual work (2-3 pages).

Form of the examination and final classification of the subject:
Examination: Written examination (100 points - knowledge test, creaiton of program for training unit - macrostructure).

3. Theory of sports training - aim, task, result.
4. Sports traning as a process of specialized adaptation
5. Prerequisits for gaining the maximum sport performance
6. Movement abilities, movement skills
7. Components of sports training. Development of abilities and skills, techniques.
8. Composition of sports training. Stages of sports training.
9. Management of sports training.
10. Effects of sports training
11. Talent
12. Diagnostic of performance
13. Specifics of the sports training, sports training of children, youth and women, disabled people.
Pedagogy and didactics in the sports training.
Material from lectures will be practised in the practical lessons, with a focus on the key areas of the given topic. Recommendations for self-study - preparation for the final exam.

Aims

Among the tasks of teaching, is characteristic of movement abilities, content of various components of the sports training, technology and management of the sports process, effects of the training and their diagnostics. Important part of the tuition is to explain the sports training as a pedagogic process with its specific didactics of sport. The seminar work of individual students is part of the course.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Attendace on the practical lessons (80 %) and active participation in it. Working out the given task on introductory practical lesson. One check test. Knowledge written test - exam.
