Budovy v České republice jsou dnes charakterizovány nedobrým technickým stavem s nevyhovujícími tepelně technickými vlastnostmi s vysokou energetickou náročností provozu. Východiskem ze situace nutné změny nedobrého stavu budov, stále se zvyšujících nákladů na jejich provoz, údržbu a opravy je změna energetického hospodářství objektů. Na podkladě energetického auditu objektu a vymezení potenciálu energetických úspor se využívá princip návrhu takových úprav, při kterých dochází k současnému morálnímu i fyzickému zhodnocení stavby a jejího technického vybavení.

At the present time, buildings in the Czech Republic are characterised by a rather bad technical condition, inadequate thermal insulating properties and high energy demands. Neglected maintenance has often led to defects which jeopardise the use of buildings and further increase their energy consumption. To improve the buildings' bad condition and reduce the ever increasing operation, maintenance and repair costs requires a change in the buildings' energy balance. Based on a building's energy audit and on the definition of the potential energy savings, modifications have been designed enabling both moral and physical valorisation of the building and its technical equipment.
