Originální abstrakt

Adhesion between fiber and matrix in a fiber-reinforced composite is a primary factor for stress transfer from the matrix to the fiber. It is evident that a thorough knowledge of the microstructure-property relationship at the interface region is an essential key to the successful design and proper use of composite materials. There have been developed many experimental techniques to characterize the fiber-matrix adhesion or interfacial properties in the fiber-reinforced composites. The test methods using microcomposites include single fiber fragmentation, fiber pull-out, indentation, and micro-debonding of a droplet. The last one technique was used in this study to characterize the interfacial properties in the glass fiber/polyester composite system in the dependence of fiber surface treatment type.
