This paper presents a comparison of different modeling variants of the liquid in a tank of a steel water tower structure. the models have been created by the ANSYS program system using the finite element method. The geometry of the thin-walled steel water tower structure has been modeled with the help of mainly shell finite elements. The liquid has been considered as added mass at the bottom and on the walls of the upper-tank, Lagrenge and Euler description with the liquid volume modeling using the corresponding finite elements. In all models, the response to harmonic loading caused by vortex shedding been monitored.
