The article explains progressive approaches of new branch at the Institute of Machine and Industrial Design. Structure of branch goes from design phase of product life cycle management and is aimed at digital data flow. The paper describes advanced technologies in the area of mechanical design process, engineering analyses, 3D optical digitizing and measurement and utilization of these technologies in master's study programme education.
