This paper describes a non-linear compuattion of the assembling process of a suspension bridge. For the FEM computation, The ANSYS program has been used. A particular attention has been paid to the assembly process of prefabricated deck elemnts. The requirement to minimize the stress of the carrying structures under assembling as well as the mounting time reduction have been taken into account. Through variant computations, it has been found an optimum assembly process reaching at the same time the required accuracy of the construction.
