Additionally, we decided to study potential function of the discovered genomic elements by Gene Ontology (GO) annotation. We searched UniProt, InterPro, Gene Ontology Consortium (GOC), and RNAcentral databases and found 22,013 annotations assigned to 3,917 distinct genomic elements.
