Brno University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Institute of Aerospace Engineering has been involved in Garteur Action Group 52 activities since the stage of Preparatory Group. The Action Group is concerned with Surrogate-based global optimization methods in preliminary aerodynamic design. As one of the consortium members, VUT contributes to selected test cases with simulation data and surrogate model performance metrics. Based on comparison of the data across various test cases, the Group is expected to produce a set of recommendations regarding most suitable metamodelling techniques in the preliminary aerodynamic design stage. The paper describes current work performed by VUT in this frame.
