Originální abstrakt

The automated creation of cartographic products made with the software tools of geographic information systems (GIS) allow people to solve extensive and complicated tasks. These tasks lead to massive calculations which are very demanding in terms of data preparation, machine time and the memory capacity of hardware. This chapter deals with theoretic analysis of the complexity of tasks and the possibility of optimisation of sub-processes which lead to acceptable solutions. The quality of results achieved is also discussed here. Theoretical assumptions were verified through a data analysis project involving the storage of gas facilities under certain types of surface terrain in the Czech Republic. This analysis was performed in order to determine the re-built costs of gas facilities (pipelines) and the valuation of necessary costs in building new networks. The authors undertook this project for the GasNet, Ltd. Company which is a part of a RWE group in the Czech Republic. The results have general significance for the creation of carto-graphic products with GIS support.

Český abstrakt

Automatizovaná tvorba kartografických děl softwarovými nástroji geografických informačních systémů (GIS) umožňuje řešení rozsáhlých a složitých úloh. Rozsáhlé a složité úlohy vedou k masivním výpočtů, které jsou velmi náročné na přípravu dat, strojový čas a kapacitu paměti použité výpočetní techniky. Článek se zabývá teoretickým rozborem složitosti úloh a možnosti optimalizace dílčích procesů, které vedou k přijatelnému řešení. Diskutována je i kvalita dosažných výsledků. Teoretické předpoklady byly ověřeny na projektu datové analýzy uložení plynárenských zařízení pod určitými typy povrchů terénu na území České republiky za účelem stanovení reprodukčních hodnot plynárenských zařízení (ply-novodů) a ocenění nákladů, které by bylo nutné vynaložit na vybudování nových sítí, který řešili autoři pro společnost GasNet, s.r.o., která je součástí koncernu RWE Česká republika. Výsledky mají obecný význam pro tvorbu kartografických děl s podporou GIS.
