Starting points for discussion about competition and competitiveness are really spread. I do not think that only some of them are the only right. There is more possibilities where to start. We can probably start with the statement that any scenario of the future development ill be connected with growing competition. Than we should think what to do with this new competition. One possible way is to accept existence of different types of competitive advantages and factor which are used in competition and which can bring success but do not develop competitiveness. But than we have to try to find way how to analyse or define competitiveness of the company or better success-ability of the company. This paper describe basic concept of the analytic approach which understands competitiveness as just one part of success-ability and which explains difference between functional and structural competitive advantages.
