DBSO (Deterministic Based Structural Optimisation) algorithm is presented, which is applied on a design of a collector tube. Formulation and numerical examples are presented. Parametric studies are performed with respect to type of reinforcement (concrete steel, stainless steel, FRP - nonmetallic fibre reinforced polymer) and objective function.
