A Novel nanofiber mats fabricated by electrospinning of polyvinyl alcohol/hyaluronan (PVA/HA) solutions in the presence of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). The latter synthesized by means in-situ chemical reduction way of silver ions (Ag+) using HA as a reducing and stabilizing agent for AgNPs preparation. The concentration of silver nitrate (0.01 to 1 M), reaction duration (10-60 min) were investigated and optimized for the preparation of narrow distribution with a spherical shape of AgNPs. Nanofibers mats were fabricated by electrospinning technique from an aqueous solution containing different mass ratio between PVA and HA-AgNPs. HA-AgNPs nanocomposite and PVA/HA-AgNPs nanofiber mats were evaluated different techniques like UV/Vis, TEM, DLS, rheological property, XRD, SEM, TGA, ATR-FTIR, and the mechanical properties were measured and discussed. The new nanofiber mats can be suitable for skin regeneration and drug carrier purposes.
