Detailní popis historie a urbanistické struktury města Olomouce s vymezením jeho center nám poskytuje konzistentní informace pro aplikace fraktální teorie. Přes samotné vlastnosti fraktálů se práce dále zabývá specifickým fraktálem – Kochovou vločkou, kterou lze v zobecněné podobě aplikovat na plošný útvar města. Cílem je nalézt optimální kritéria pro rozvoj a vývoj území okolo historického centra. Dílčí závěry ve zjednodušené simulaci potvrdily přirozený růst ve třetí dimenzi, a to v optimální rovnováze s celkovým zahušťováním města a měřítkem stávající zástavby historického centra.

Anglický abstrakt

Detailed description of the history and urban structure of the town of Olomouc together with the definition of town centres provide us with consistent information for the application of fractal theories on urban design. The paper deals with fractals characteristics, focusing on one specific fractal – The Koch snowflake. This fractal is possible to apply on the planar structure of the town. The aim is to find optimal criteria for development and progress in the area around the historic centre. Partial conclusion in simplified simulation confirms natural growth in the third dimension(vertically) but in the optimal equilibrium with the general town density rate and with respect to the scale of buildings in the historic centre. Results are supported by the mathematic determination of fractal dimensions of the town surface and perimeter and their relationship to the chosen area.
