This paper presents a possible approach for piston ring dynamics simulation and computation, utilizing a MBS software produced by MSC, ADAMS, resp. its extension suitable for comprehensive engine behavior simulation, Virtual Engine, developed by FEV GmbH. Given is also a brief introduction how the simulation model is created, what principles are used for the computation and what possible outputs could be obtained.
