This paper deals with problematic about inteligent power grids – so called Smart Grids. Many companies are developing and testing new solutions of monitoring and control of electrical networks, especially in the context of the gradually change in the structure of power resources, which is distinctive and many discussed in recent years. This paper summarizes the development of Smart Grid pilot projects in the framework of Grid4EU project in which are involve the major European distribution system operators and then offers a perspective on this issue from the perspective of potential benefits for all parties involved in the issues of production, control, distribution and consumption of electricity.
