The aim of the present study was to investigate the performance of two oxygen-enhanced combustion methods, namely the premix enrichment and the air-oxy/fuel combustion. The observed combustion parameters included the concentration of nitrogen oxides in flue gas, the heat flux distribution lengthwise the combustion chamber and the flame pattern. It was observed that NOx emission is significantly lower when the air-oxy/fuel method is used compared to the premix enrichment method. Higher oxygen concentrations resulted in higher heating intensity.
