Bioengineer with R&D experience. Currently the Director of the Department of Biomedical Engineering and leader of two research teams. While at Johns Hopkins University and International Center of Clinical Medicine developed experience in advanced techniques in biomedical engineering. Have a real passion for cell bioengineering and bioinformatics, strong coaching and mentoring skills, and strong communication skills.

  • Characterized magnetic nanoparticles for cell transfection
  • Developed staining of lysosomes by nanoparticle based dyes with low toxicity for long-term cell studies
  • Studied migration of adherent cells and non-adherent cells
  • Studied growing a monolayer of endothelial cells on a flexible tube

  • Developed unique instrumentation for fast fluorescence microscopy with simultaneous use of up to three indicators and two digital cameras

  • Conducted research in experimental technology to study electrophysiology of the isolated heart using optical imaging
  • Developed an advanced method for registration of action potentials and calcium concentration in the beating heart using touchless fiber-optics based imaging on single cell level
