Type of study programme: Doctoral

Study programme code: P3910

Degree awarded: Ph.D.

Tuition Fees: 3000 EUR/academic year for EU students, 3000 EUR/academic year for non-EU students

Accreditation: 1.9.2001 - 31.12.2024

Specific admission requirements

The student must have finished a relevant field of technical science MSc study programme.
The admission procedure consists of the parts from applied mathematics and physics and a discussion on a topic related to the subject of PhD study programme.

Key learning outcomes

The Institute of Physical Engineering offers the Ph.D. programmes in physical engineering, namely in engineering optics and in surface physics and engineering. Research topics in engineering optics include interferometry, holographic interferometry, laser speckles, Fourier optics, kinematical theory of diffraction, nonlinear optics, construction of the optical systems and scientific instruments. Ph.D. coursework involves selected parts of mathematics, e.g. partial differential equations, Fourier series and Fourier transform of functions of several variables, special functions and mathematical statistics.
