Detailed knowledge of contemporary urban planning problems and prospective urban development trends.

Prerequisites:
Theoretical and practical knowledge of problems and ability to solve them, needed for architectural design activity.

Contemporary town and his characteristic, urban design function cities, resident development. Delimitation, make - up and usage territory resident units.Urbanization, settlement and regional development. Developing trends development cities.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods:
Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:
Written exam. Final classification shall include 1/3 seminar evaluation, 2/3 written exam classification. In both parts it is necessary to gain more than one half of points otherwise the exam is not convenient. Results of control tests (max. 5 points) are bonus that is added to gained amount of points (up to 100 points).

Aims:
Students are familiarized with urbanistic building typology, devices and housing elements, commercial and non-commercial equipment, technical facilities and transportation. During lessons and seminars students also acquire basics of urbanistic designing and are prepared for managing basic urbanistic studio.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences:
Concept of each task and final study turn in. 80% of practice teaching is mandatory, 20% is not necessary to substitute. Control tests during lessons.
