all in accordance with the methodological materials of the Board of the National Accreditation Office for Higher Education and the documents of the Brno University of Technology (hereinafter “BUT”) and the Faculty of Civil Engineering of BUT.
The study program is designed for graduates of bachelor study programs of university and non-university technical universities in the Czech Republic and the EU. The content of the course builds mainly on the knowledge of the graduates of the four-year bachelor's study program Civil Engineering, specializing in “Building Constructions”, “Construction and Transport Structures” and “Water Management and Water Structures” at FCE BUT.
The study enables to gain knowledge in the field of building process technology, building construction methods, investment and construction technology preparation of building realization, building management and their reconstruction and building business. In accordance with the current level of theoretical knowledge and developmental tendencies of technical, technological and economic development, emphasis is placed on teaching exact methods in solving engineering tasks of construction technology design and using computer support for the preparation and construction of buildings.
An obligatory part of the study program Civil Engineering - Construction Project Execution is a ten-week professional practice of students, which takes place in cooperation with major construction companies operating in the Czech Republic. Students work as assistant construction manager. This contributes to the verification of acquired knowledge in practice and to the acquisition of further theoretical and practical knowledge, skills and experience in the field of construction preparation and implementation.
The aim of the study is to broaden the theoretical and practical knowledge of graduates concerning construction technologies, working procedures and methods of construction management and to educate professionals capable of immediate application in the preparation and management of construction. To create conditions for a substantial shortening of the graduate's adaptation period after entering the practice and also in the higher management of the construction company.
After passing the final state examination, the graduate is entitled to use the title “engineer” (abbreviated to Ing. Before the name).
Graduates of the study program Civil Engineering - Construction Project Execution are able to solve the technical, technological, economic and managerial tasks in the building industry independently and creatively. During the three-semester study of this study program the student gains knowledge in theoretical and professional subjects, especially in the field of building technologies and methods of building construction, construction realization management, project management in construction, economic tools of construction production management, construction law, construction quality management management of work teams, environmental protection and occupational safety during construction. They will acquire the use of computer support to solve engineering problems in the preparation and implementation of constructions.
Learning outcomes of the course unit The subject is focused on the development of new building materials, products, technologies in building industry, new models of construction production management and modern methods of construction site management.
