Specific admission requirements

Candidates applying to study in the bachelor’s study programme Municipal Engineering must demonstrate knowledge and understanding within the scope specified by the appropriate directive of the Dean of FCE BUT. This requires them to have successfully completed their secondary education with a “Maturita“ final secondary school exam. Then, either the grade point average from the candidate’s secondary school allows acceptance without an entrance exam, or an entrance exam is sat featuring mathematics and physics papers based on the current syllabus taught at grammar schools.

Key learning outcomes

Graduates from the bachelor’s study programme Municipal Engineering are able to solve all basic technical, economic and ecological problems connected with the maintenance of functional urban and municipal infrastructure and are capable of the creation and coordination of public infrastructure solutions, i.e. transport and technical infrastructure, open public areas, etc.

Access to further studies

The bachelor’s study programme Municipal Engineering is compatible with bachelor’s programmes offered at other civil engineering schools at Czech technical universities and enables, in the spirit of the Bologna Declaration, students to continue their education via master’s study programmes not only at sister universities in the Czech Republic, but also at universities abroad. It is expected that the consecutive master’s study programme Municipal Engineering offered at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Brno University of Technology will be accredited within the next 3 years in order that graduates of the bachelor’s study programme may continue their studies in the most convenient manner possible. It is possible for graduates from the study programme Municipal Engineering to study and gain education at the 1-and-a-half-year consecutive study programme Municipal Engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Brno University of Technology.
