    Abandoned Areas and Territories are often located in the location's valuable sites. Considering the revitalization of these spaces may mean not only a significant transformation and benefit in the territory concerned but may be an impetus for further development in the wider context of the site.

  3. Garden colonies - the phenomenon of urban structures towns

    Gardening colonies are perceived in the city planning system as a functional area of specific importance, or an area for agricultural use or green areas associated with recreation. The phenomenon of gardening colonies is also part of community civil relations with self-governing rules of functioning. The theme will deal with the complexity of the urban gardening with the aspect of the community way of using the environment in the garden colonies.

  4. Genesis of urbanistic theories during the 20th century

    The genesis of the theories that fundamentally influenced the urban planning and construction of cities during the 20th.century. The theme will be addressed primarily to the European cultural space in the context of global social changes in this century.

  5. Historism and traditionalism in postmodern theories of urbanism after world war II

    Historicism and traditionalism as part of the postmodern critical theories applied in urban planning and construction of cities after the second world war in the European cultural space. The theme will focus mainly on post-war developments in central Europe, but especially in Czechoslovakia.

  6. Respecting the spatial architectural and urban values of the city during obesity and revitalization

    The dissertation thesis should deal with the broader context in the structure of the city, objective principles for the incorporation and use of the preserved spatial architectural and urban values of the urban area in the regeneration and revitalization of the city's environment.

  7. Revision of access to rural settlements and territories in post-aggression

    In socialism there have been transformations in the country that have interrupted the continuum of development. Revision of access to rural settlements should be based on the fact that the direction of rural economic development has changed, and the need to preserve its cultural values.

  8. Status and prospects of brownfield development in the 21st century

    An assessment of the state of brownfields in terms of the history, overview and perspectives of further development after 2007 – the end of the CABERNET – a coordinated European Union initiative, that focused on the development and economic regeneration of brownfields.

  9. The typology of the contemporary city

    Pluralism of post-modern period, globalization and purposes of sustainable development bring new requirements into our city organisation. Do our settlements and their traditional compositional elements comply with the needs of the near future? Is the corresponding form compact city or garden city?

  10. Transformation of contemporary settlements with a focus on changes of functionally spatial structure

    Contemporary settlements are undergoing a series of changes. Current considerations reveal the possibilities of different approaches to accessing and dealing with the potential of the city and its environment. Desirable are such changes that contribute to the fulfillment of sustainability factors.

  11. Urban Development Issues of Settlements in Suburban Areas of Towns and Their Options

    The main problems of suburbanization are related to the disruption of the environment around the city and the increase in transport costs of equipment in the urban agglomeration. The work should define principles to reduce the impact of the suburbanisation process in our cities.
