- Analysis hazardoes of factors affecting the tendency for accidents caused by selected groups of citizens
The focus will be given to the analysis of human factors affecting drivers' tendency for accidents, the influence of age on driving, cognitive issues related to driving a motor vehicle with respect to age, the influence of age on decision making, possibilities of compensation, using HMI (Human-Machine Interface), problematic drivers in this age group and the influence of these factors on the accident rate and the assessment of the causes of their occurrence.

The focus will be given to the analysis of factors affecting young drivers' tendency for accidents, the influence of age on driving, cognitive issues related to driving a motor vehicle with respect to age, the influence of age on decision making, possibilities of compensation, using HMI (Human-Machine Interface), problematic drivers in this age group and the influence of these factors on the accident rate and the assessment of the causes of their occurrence.
- Analysis of a driver's behaviour when driving in a curve
When dealing with a collision between two vehicles riding in a curve, it is necessary to also deal with an analysis of the common trajectory of the vehicle in realtion to the conditions in the place of the collision and to the common riding technique of the drivers. The thesis will deal with an analysis of the factors affecting the riding tactics and subsequently the trajectory of the vehicle when riding in a curve under various conditions so that it is possible to deduce common behaviour of the driver depending on the important factors influencing the ride trajectory (radius of the curve, view of the curve, speed of the ride, adhesion conditions and others) for different riding situations.
- Behaviour of Unsecured Objects in Vehicle during Intensive Deceleration in System Concept
During car accident it is common that the passenger injury is caused by at first via inertia forces acting on human body and at second by human body contact with car body. The injury can be also caused by unsecured objects in vehicle interacting during car accident with human body. In this case it is necessary due to the driver’s responsibility to investigate the causes of serious passenger injury. This needs at first knowledge about behaviour of different types of unsecured objects in the vehicle during their loosening and flight and at second knowledge about impact process when the unsecured objects have a contact with human body. The doctoral thesis shall be focused on interaction of different unsecured objects which are having different characteristics (stiffness, weight) with selected critical parts of human body (head, spine). The aim of the thesis is to investigate the critical limit conditions of selected human body part and also to investigate the process of unsecured object loosening and flight.
- Microclimate influence on driver‘s abilities in the vehicle interior
The quality of vehicle interior can significantly affect the human ability. Worsened air quality in driver’s vehicle cabin caused by defect, closing the fresh air supply (internal circulation), by influence of non-functional or heavily polluted air condition system, respectively heating or smoking can have negative impact on the driver’s behavior. As a result of deterioration air quality could be fatigue, poor concentration and extension of the driver’s reaction time. These influences lead to decrease of active safety and increase of risk of accidents. The thesis will be focused on the solution of two types of the interrelated problems. During the first problem will be searched a suitable ways for parameterization of the vehicle interior air quality. Within the second problem will be monitored the influence of the interior air quality on the driver’s behavior with emphasis on the influence on his reaction time and fatigue. Due to the expected influence on the reaction time (particular on the cognitive phase) could be used the eyetracking methodology for obtaining the relevant data. The output should be the data connected with the impact of the internal environment on driver’s behavior in relation to the explanation of causal continuity with occur of road accident. Eventually to create proposal of control, manage and optimization of vehicle interior air quality with the aim to increased driving safety.
- Security risk of smart technologies in transport
In the last years is special attention focused on the development and application of smart technologies. Smart transport is difficult framework created by different system whose functionality ensures safe and efficient traffic management. However, in this prioritization may occur with respect to the dynamic development of these technologies, even to unconscious understatement potential safety risk which can cause very serious consequences. Is necessary to identify, analyze and evaluate the risk level and in case of necessity to find appropriate measures that will lead to risk minimization.
- Security risk of using the driving assistants in transport
The development of active safety features, namely management assistants, is increasingly common in passenger car equipment. These assistance systems have the task of alerting the driver of a dangerous situation that can cause a car accident and may in some cases interfere with the maneuver, which is likely to increase driving safety. However, the use of these systems may also entail risks, for example, when the driver may lose attention and rely on the safety feature, may extend the time between the system interruption and the time the driver takes control of the vehicle, or the system malfunctions and disfunction. This can lead to the occurrence of a traffic accident or the aggravation of its consequences. It is therefore necessary to identify these risks, assess their extent and, if necessary, find appropriate measures to reduce them, which will increase the safety of the operation of vehicles equipped with these assistance systems.
- System of preemptive safety analysis of road junctions and traffic flow
The aim is to develop a preemption quantitative system for evaluating of safety of traffic hubs, based on analysis of space-time information on each individual participant of traffic flow, which will be automatically extracted with high accuracy from video data from a bird’s eye view perspective. From these video data will be obtained the trajectories of road transport users and these trajectories will be analyze from the safety point of view, based on the detection of non-standard behavior, conflict situation, uncomfortable transit etc. The proposal topic introduce a comprehensive and innovative approach to safety audits of road infrastructure, based on quantitative and statistic assessment of real data from the monitored sector and thus allows for the prevention of property damage and loss of human lives.
- The influence of road surroundings on passive traffic safety
The aim is to analyse in detail and afterwards to interpret the influence of roads and their surroundings on traffic safety in such a way that the analysis results can be used in forensic engineering practice. To obtain a comprehensive evaluation, special measuring devices (e.g. floating car, Eyetracking) will be used as well as analytical methods to evaluate the mutual relations between the road intermediate parameters and traffic safety. One of the aims of the thesis is to deal with propositions concerning the way of analysing safety of roads and their surroundings when carrying out assessments in technical ASN (Road Accident Investigation) and how to notify the appropriate authorities of these dangerous elements.
