Issued topics of Doctoral Study Program

  1. Application of sophisticated computation tools in the field of waste management

    The aim of this doctoral thesis is the development of methodology for strategic studies in the field of waste management. The outcome will be applied to deferent territorial levels (country, regional and micro-regional level). Sophisticated tool based on mathematical programming will serve as supportive measures for the analysis carried out. The proposed methodology will be tested through a case study involving particular region in the Czech Republic. Issues to be solved: • Investigation of data available in the waste management with focus on Czech Republic; input data collection and preparation • Review of existing tools developed at UPI and elsewhere • Proposals on how to integrate new features into the existing systems; active participation on development of novel tools, if needed. • Development of methodology for waste management plan creation process • Application of outcomes – pilot studies Outcomes will support analysis on effective utilization of waste in a particular regions. Technical and economic feasibility of proposed solutions will be considered as a key constraint. Waste management hierarchy will be addressed too.
