Computer Technology I - Computer Aided Architectural Design

The subject's purpose is to impart to the students fundamental information on computer art. In the framework of this subject, the students complete their secondary school knowledge of hardware and software, get additional information on communication and information retrieval, and extend their ability to make use of the office software. All is taken into account in the work with graphic data. Provided is basic information on graphic vector editors and their use in architectural practice.

Laboratory: Work on faculty computer networks, in net VUT, accessible services, Internet, electronic mail, source of information.
Lecture: Computer support at sheet. drafting,basic of computer graphics
Lecture: Colour in computer. Color models. Color adjustment of picture.
Laboratory: Preparation and processing visual data – scanning, digital photograph
Laboratory: Processing visual data – PhotoShop
Laboratory: Production of collage – PhotoShop
Laboratory: Production of poster – Illustrator
Laboratory: Internet presentation of architectural data – meaning, design, tools
Laboratory: Internet presentation of architectural data – Adobe Flash
Laboratory: Internet presentation of architectural data – Adobe Flash
Laboratory: Processing of architectural model - Sketchup

Aims

The subject's purpose is to impart to the students fundamental information on informatics, primarily computer graphics. In the framework of this subject, the students complete their secondary school knowledge of hardware and software, get additional information on communication and information retrieval, and extend their ability to make use of the office software for work with graphic data. They gain basic information on computer graphics used in architectural practice.
