The course focuses on characteristic features of professional business communication. It provides students with the relevant specialist language and professional communication skills they will need in the workplace. The course provides preparation for Business English examinations at B2 level.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The course at the upper-intermediate level (B2 according to CEFR) is designed to prepare students for various economic professions. It will enrich their professional vocabulary and enable them to express themselves more authoritatively in professional contexts.

English exam at intermediate level as minimum (B1 according to CEFR).

The course it taught by means of language lessons focused on practicing language skills and developing vocabulary. It includes also individual work of students.

Aims

The course has a practical approach and is intended for pre-service students preparing for work in a business environment.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Students’ participation at seminars is compulsory and their work is systematically controlled. Absence may be compensated for by the agreement with the teacher.
