Modelling Techniques II

The subject develops the creative ability to treat a spatial idea in a concrete material and technology. Its contents derives from the functional or formal analysis of the organic principle. The objective is to develop the ability to use the sources of inspiration in the search for formal ideas, and their presentation. Emphasis is put on the technology of implementation (work on 3D machines of the Modelling Centre) and its application to architecture. The classes are combined with the classes of computer art and of free creative activity in the Institute of Drawing and Modelling, in the winter semester.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Mastering the metod of creative step by step proceeding : study of facts, idea and its realisation in a model, in selected material

Prerequisites

Basics of drawing and modelling, working with colour, talent for graphic and plastic art.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The student's individual assignments are continually classified, he or she submits the final work - a three dimensional model, the mark reflects the average assessment of all assignments. The final work has a higher value for the resulting mark.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Missed lessons can be made up for depending on the accomplishment of the individual partial assignments and the final work. Non-accomplishment of 20% of partial assignments is tolerated.
