Learning outcomes of the course unit

The student is able to:
- describe and explain the transistor equation for the two basic types of transistors,
- to design, simulate and interpret the results of a series of analog integrated circuits (current mirror, reference, simple OTA, output stage)
- to design, simulate and interpret the results of complex analog integrated circuit especially operational amplifiers Rail-to-Rail, and more.

Prerequisites

The subject knowledge on the Bachelor´s degree level is requested, especially with regard to the principles of analog circuits.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods include lecture and computer and numerical excercises.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

- a maximum of 30 points for two tests during the semester,
- a maximum of 70 points for the final exam, which consists of a written part and oral exam.

Aims

The aim of the subject is to make thoroughly students familiar with the state of art and perspectives of bipolar analogue integrated circuitsr and to prepare them for the design-oriented subject Design of analoque integrated circuits CMOS-MNAI.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Computer exercises are mandatory. Properly excused absence from seminars can be replaced by appointment with the teacher.
