Course curriculum

Introduction to magnetism:
Magnetic quantities, basic magnetic characterization and introduction to the molecular magnetism
Magnetic properties of transition metal complexes and lanthanide coordination compounds:
Basic magnetic characterisation, Spin Hamiltonian, magnetic anisotropy, ligand field theory and Griffith-Figis Hamiltonian
Single molecule magnetism:
Definition, characterisation and clasification of single molecule magnets, experimenthal detection and magnetic data analysis, slow relaxation of magnetisation
Spin crossover effect:
Definition, characterisation and clasification of spin crossover complexes, experimenthal detection and magnetic data analysis, photoinduced spin crossover, LIESST and LD LISCO effects
Experimental techniques for the detection of magnetic functions:
Clasification of magnetometers, data processing and photomagnetic experiments
