Language of instruction
1. Development and history of dam engineering, division of dams according to their constructional material and according to static transfer of load into the underlay. Data required, design of cross sectional profiles of dams.
2.–3. Functional objects and their design, hydraulic design of individual types of functional objects.
4.–5. Calculation of dam cross-section parameters for different types of dams (lining and protection of outer and upstream face, drainage system, filters, dam crest, dam sealing, connection of sealing to the underlay).
6.–7. Foundation and realization of dams, measurements on dams, monitoring.
8. Hydro power energy possibilities and rules of usage.
9. Types hydro power plant and their solution, functional objects of different types of hyro power plants, constructional design.
10.–11. Division of hydro power plants, constructional solution of turbines and their accessories, solution of individual parts of hydro power plants.
12. Design of small hydro power plant and peak load power plant. Engine room and accessories of hydro power plants.
By attending the course students will get basic information and knowledge, which enables them to solve individually the problems related to design and realisation of dams and structures required for water power energy utilisation.
