Fireproof and Special Ceramic

FAST-6J3Acad. year: 2020/2021

The goal of the study is to win profound knowledge in the field of technical ceramics, which is characterized by a wide range of different types of fireproof materials and products of special ceramic. In the field of fireproof materials the contents of the subject concerns the mostly used alumino-silicate refractory manufactured using the natural and synthetic raw materials, magnesite and dolomite products, highly siliceous and aluminous products, zirconium products, materials containing carbon, high duty refractories and products from pure oxides. Significant attention is paid to lightweight heat insulation materials to unshaped refractories and to refractory concrete based on portland and aluminous cement. Further the students become acquainted with the production and properties of tile, earthenware, sanitary ceramic, stone ware and china.
