Construction Process Technology I.

Introduction to technology of construction works. Manufacturing processes, types, structure, characteristics. Connection of technological processes with building mechanisation. Survey of basic building machines. Carcassing of substructure, realisation of earthworks, utility services, foundation engineering. Carcassing of superstructure, building of scaffolding, formwork of monolithic structures, reinforcement, concreting processes. Stone and walling works. Walling of masonry, partitions, vaults, stonework. Working processes, their modelling and joining. Scheduling of partial processes.

Course curriculum

Introduction into the technology of constructions. Production processes, types, structure, characteristics, process design, design planning documentation.
Mechanisation of construction processes. Definitions, tasks of mechanisation, degree of mechanisation. Efficiency of machines and machine gangs.
Building machines and equipment. Earth moving machines, basic division. Excavators and their division according to the driving unit, operation and undercarriage design.
Building machines and equipment – continuation.
Loaders, dozers, scrapers, graders, rippers, compacting machines, their basic features and manners of utilization.
Machines and equipment for concrete works and reinforced concrete works. Mixers, concrete plants, reinforcement bending facilities and vibration equipment.
Machines and equipment for vertical transportation. Types of cranes, their features and capacities. Building lifts, types, application.
Overview of machines and equipment for utility services, machines and equipment for finishing and special works, small mechanisation. Features and applications.
Earth moving works. Laying out of the site, characteristics of the construction pit, trenches and wells.
Execution of utility services. Building sewers, water-service pipes and gas duct connections. Connections of electric power and heating media.
Execution of foundation structures. Shallow and deep foundations, procedure. Manners of superstructure anchoring into foundations.
Building of scaffolding. Construction of segment, element and special scaffoldings. Working procedures and principles. Formwork of reinforced concrete structures. Basic division.
Formwork of reinforced concrete structures – continuation. Element, system and special formworks. Principles of designing and realization.
Steel works. Preparation of steel reinforcement of reinforced concrete structures, technology production lines. Placement of reinforcement – principles and operating procedures.
Concrete work processes. Transportation, depositing, compacting and care for concrete. Special concrete pouring methods.

·Acquiring of knowledge of selected construction processes, of requirements for their preparation before execution, balance of sources, principles of technology procedures of individual construction processes, their sequence and links, their quality, safety and environmental requirements in the course of their realization.
