Technology Transfer and Protection of Intellectual Property

Introduction to the intellectual property law study: the aim, system, sources, international organisations (WIPO, WTO, EPO, UNESCO), public administration of the industrial property rights.
The basic elements of protected objects.
The exercising and enforcement of intellectual property rights.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course contains lectures that explain basic principles, problems and methodology of the discipline, and exercises that promote the practical knowledge of the subject presented in the lectures..

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The assessment is based on written examination. Criteria will be defined at the beginning of the course.

3. Protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights.
4. Industrial property rights.
5. Copyright rights.
6. Company intellectual property rights and his protection.
7. Transfer of the technologies.

Aims

a) To provide students a knowledge and understanding the czech intellectual property law including its international and communitarian framework and methods of the intellectual property rights enforcement.
b) To distinguish rights and basic elements of the protected objects; to understand the legal disposition with the protected objects.
c) To understand principles and methods of the technologies transfer.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Regular attendance and active participation in lectures are required.
