Learning outcomes of the course unit

Knowledge of structure, properties of ideal crystal and classification of crystalline structures.
Knowledge of the classification and nature of disturbances in the real crystal and their relation to the properties of the crystals.
Knowledge of structure, properties and formation of non-crystalline inorganic substances
Knowledge of binding forces in solids
Knowledge of electrical properties of solids and their relation to the structure.
Knowledge of magnetic properties of solids and their relation to the structure.
Knowledge of thermal and optical properties of solids and their relation to the structure.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of general and inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry and materials physics.

Co-requisites

Not applicable.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course uses teaching methods in form of Lecture - 2 teaching hours per week. The e-learning system (LMS Moodle) is available to teachers and students.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The examination is oral with a period of 30 minutes for preparation. There is examinated and evaluated the knowledge of theoretical as well as practical methods of study structure and properties of inorganic materials and orientation in contemporary trends. The volume of the knowledge required is similar to that of lectures content.
