Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course uses teaching methods in form of Lecture - 2 teaching hours per week. The e-learning system (LMS Moodle) is available to teachers and students.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
Test in the form of written test along with the oral exam in the range of lectures and recommended literature.
Language of instruction
1. History, definition of special toxicology, terminology, principles.
2. Overview of toxic effects of toxic compounds, characteristics, examples of toxic compounds and toxins.
3. Toxicological characteristics of elements, inorganic, organic compounds and organometallic compounds.
4. Toxicological characteristics of selected organic groups and compounds.
5. Toxicological characteristics of fungi, cyanobacteria, algae toxins.
6. Toxicological characteristics of plant toxins Toxicologically important plant species (alkaloids, biologically active substances)
7. Toxicological characteristics of animal toxins, toxicologically significant animal species.
8th Radiotoxicology Toxicology and chemical warfare agents.
The aim is to provide and clarify the toxic effects of substances and mechanisms of toxic effects on organisms, toxic effects of elements and their compounds, selected organic compounds, alkaloids, biologically active substances, toxins of fungi, algae, plants, animals, radiotoxicology, warfare agents.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
Attendance at lectures is recommended, but not controlled. An integral part of teaching and combined form of teaching is a e-learning tutorial course, divided into blocks, within which are available to students learning support including electronic textbooks, presentations, lectures, and other complementary materials. For students in combined form of study are organized consultations on the topics for full-time students.Consultations are also provided to full-time students on request.
