Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Oral verification of the knowledge of the professional terminology needed for the profession of architect by presenting the student's project and subsequent discussion.
The student submits a written summary of the presented project.
In order to be successful, a student must prove that he / she is able to clearly present his / her project in a English language, use the basic terminology of his / her field and describe his / her study at BUT.

1. Basic terminology. Working with dictionaries. Description of house exterior.
2. Description of the building structure. Regional differences in terminology.
3. Building materials, description of their properties in architecture.
4. Types of architectural drawings and documents. Site plan description.
5. Disposition and functional zoning. Description of the floor plan of a house.
6. Residential buildings. Description and functions.
7. Residential buildings. Classification and disposition.
8. Public buildings. Classification and functions.
9. Renovation of residential buildings. Tips for presenting in a foreign language.
10. Public space. Description and functions. Writing abstracts.
11. Training presentation of student projects. Curriculum Vitae in English Language for study abroad.
12. Training presentation of student projects. Portfolio in English Language for study abroad.
13. Consultation of submitted abstracts and CVs.
